Built for Windows

Bible Study Software for Windows

Vellum is a native Windows desktop application, not a browser tab or a phone app shrunk to fit a monitor. Pick the installer for a normal Program Files setup, or the portable build if you'd rather carry it on a USB drive.

The Vellum installer running on Windows

Two ways to run it on Windows

Installer Recommended

A normal setup wizard. Installs to Program Files, adds a Start Menu shortcut, and uninstalls from Windows Settings like any other program.

Get the installer

Portable

No installer. Double-click and it opens. Nothing written to Program Files or the registry, so it runs fine from a USB drive on a different computer.

What you get on the Windows build

All four panes at once

Bible, Commentary, Dictionary, and Notes, each resizable, each visible at the same time on your desktop.

23 translations on Windows

The Windows build includes nineteen extra translations beyond the core four, plus Tyndale's original 1520s Pentateuch and New Testament.

Runs fully offline

Once installed, no internet connection is needed. Everything ships inside the app.

Print-friendly panes

Every pane has its own print button that sends just that pane, not the whole window, to your printer or a PDF.

About the security warning

About the security warning: Vellum isn't signed with a paid Windows code-signing certificate, so the first run will likely show "Windows protected your PC" with the publisher listed as Unknown. That's normal for small, independently-built free software, not a sign the file is unsafe. Click "More info," then "Run anyway."

On Linux instead? Vellum also ships as a .deb package or an AppImage.
